Pastor’s Pantry Needs Your Help

With the beginning of summer, Pastor’s Pantry finds our food supplies are very low.   As we go to Second Harvest Food Bank in Winston Salem to pick up food, we find Second Harvest’s shelves are also low. The demand from various pantries being served by Second Harvest has caused lines to form as early as midnight on the days designated for food pick up.  In order to supply monthly groceries for our 594 clients representing 423 households, Pastor’s Pantry needs help in restocking our shelves.  In particular, the Pantry needs pasta sauce, canned vegetables, canned fruit, breakfast cereal, macaroni and cheese, dried beans, grits, and canned soups.

Pastor’s Pantry is requesting individual food donations as well as food drives to help sustain us through the summer months. Food can be dropped at the Pantry, located at 307 N State Street in Lexington, between the hours of 8am and 4pm Monday thru Thursday.  Anyone who is interested in conducting a food drive may contact us at 336-249-8824 for assistance. Your food donations, along with monetary donations, enable the Pantry to provide 4,034 bags of groceries monthly to seniors in need and members of their households.
